The Yonex EZONE 98 (2022) is currently one of our favourite rackets! We believe the quality of the Yonex rackets is unparalleled, both in terms of how solid the racket feels, and also how incredibly well it does when it comes to quality testing. Like the majority of Yonex rackets, we have found the Yonex EZONE 98 (2022) to be incredibly true to spec, when measured on our precision scan. 

When we tried the EZONE 98, we were truly impressed with how solid it felt, and how much power we were able to generate without compromising on comfort. This racket gave us slightly more control compared to the lighter models, and we also felt like we had a bit of extra stability, especially when playing against the more experienced players. 

Another aspect of the racket that we really enjoyed, was the spin ability. You may associate this type of "power racket' to suit players who tend to hit the ball flatter, however, thanks to the implementation of various technologies, such as the Liner tech and Aero Shape Design, we were able to generate good amounts of spin!

It is commonly known that the more powerful rackets on the market are notoriously stiff, and can be uncomfortable to play with. Yonex has addressed this issue with the EZONE 98, offering more comfort compared to its competitors, such as the Babolat Pure Drive.

2G-Namd Speed Graphite > This is a material that lines the throat of the racket. Adding this increases the playability and feel.

Vibration Dampening Mesh > This is a mesh that is integrated between the grip and handle. This technology reduces vibration by up to 30%, thereby increasing comfort. 

New shaft Design > By creating a thicker shaft with a round design, Yonex has reduced unwanted racket rotations when you hit the ball off-centre.

Aero Shape Design > This increases power and gives a plush feel. This is done by making the frame thinner and adding a thicker beam

Isometric > This is Yonex's distinctive square-like head shape. This increases the sweetspot by 7%, making it a more forgiving racket, while not compromising on control. 

Oval Pressed Shaft > This feature includes rounding the shaft corners, as well as allowing the shaft to flex upon impact. This leads to a more comfortable feel and fewer vibrations. 

Liner tech > This allows for more spin to be generated, even when you hit the ball off-centre. This is done by keeping the main strings vertical with special grommets. These grommets also allow for more string movement, allowing the strings to grip onto the ball more, thereby generating more spin.
